It’s Ashley Joi,

I help people transform their knowledge, experiences and ideas into powerful intellectual property — whether through financial literacy, publishing or purpose-driven entrepreneurship.

Turning Creativity Into Ownership. Vision Into Legacy.

Ashley Joi is an author, publisher, songwriter and entrepreneur who builds platforms that transform ideas into assets and creativity into long-term ownership.

Rooted in legacy and driven by strategy, her work spans music, publishing, wealth education and purpose-driven entrepreneurship — all centered around one belief:

Creativity is currency. Ownership is power.

A Legacy of Music & Business

Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Ashley comes from a deeply musical lineage. Her mother, a member of the iconic group Brandye, performed on over 4,000 records and earned 16 gold and platinum albums, while her father managed the group.

From an early age, Ashley wasn’t just captivated by the music — she was fascinated by the mechanics behind it: publishing, contracts, royalties and intellectual property. She learned early that talent is powerful, but ownership changes everything.

Following in her family’s footsteps, Ashley became a songwriter and secured her own record deal, collaborating with internationally recognized artists. Her journey led her to meet her husband, music legend PooBear. Together, they have co-written multiple songs, including Justin Bieber’s hit “Yummy,” which earned Ashley her first Grammy nomination.

Today, she owns a successful music publishing company and holds multiple platinum records of her own.

Author. Educator. Wealth Advocate.

Ashley’s passion for strategy and financial empowerment led her to author Financially Fly: Mastering Money & Wealth for Women, a bestselling financial literacy book designed to help women build wealth, confidence and clarity.

Her mission is simple: normalize wealth conversations for women and turn financial knowledge into generational power.

Through education and transparency, she continues to shift the narrative from survival to ownership.

The Evolution Into Publishing

After navigating both the music and book publishing industries firsthand, Ashley recognized a powerful gap: many visionary women have transformative ideas but lack strategic guidance to bring them to life with excellence, structure and long-term positioning.

That realization led to the expansion of her publishing services.

As a publisher, Ashley supports authors in transforming their manuscripts into elevated, market-ready intellectual property. Her approach blends creative development, strategic packaging and ownership education — ensuring that each project is not just a book, but a brand asset.

She is also the publisher of Indigenously Black, a striking coffee table book celebrating heritage, identity and reclamation.

Expanding the Ecosystem

Ashley’s ventures extend beyond music and books. She is the founder of:

The Lit Star – A talent development company cultivating creativity and confidence in children
Joi Decor – A home décor brand blending beauty, energy, and intention
PooBear Essentials – A wellness supplement line promoting balance and vitality

She is also the creator of the Deck of Gems Affirmation Cards, designed to align mindset, manifest abundance and support intentional living.

Each venture reflects her core philosophy: build with purpose, scale with strategy and create with intention.

Life Beyond the Work

Now based in Miami, Ashley is a devoted mother of two who believes legacy and motherhood can coexist beautifully.

When she’s not immersed in creative ventures or business development, you’ll find her practicing yoga, playing tennis, traveling or cooking with love.

Her life is a reflection of what she teaches — intentional growth, aligned wealth and purposeful expansion.

Let’s Build Something Meaningful

Whether through authorship, publishing, partnerships or purpose-driven ventures, Ashley continues to help visionaries bring their ideas to life with clarity and ownership.
